OpenAI’s video generation tool Sora 2 has quietly rolled out several new UI tweaks and minor functionality updates.

1. 15-Second Video Option (10 s / 15 s)

Previously, Sora videos were capped at roughly 10 seconds. The new “Duration” menu now allows users to choose between 10 s and 15 s. The 15-second option is available even for free-tier accounts, as confirmed through live testing.

2. Folder Selection for Image Uploads

Users can now navigate their device’s folder hierarchy (e.g., Pictures, Screenshots, Downloads) when uploading images. This replaces the old “recent images only” view, improving material management for creators.

3. Download / Delete Available Even in Drafts

One of the most practical improvements: users can now download or delete unfinished videos directly from the draft screen. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) → Download or Delete to manage your creations before publishing. This streamlines the workflow — save locally for editing or remove unneeded outputs instantly.

Draft view menu now includes “Download” and “Delete” options.

4. Media Upload Agreement (First-Time Notice)

Upon first uploading an image, a Media Upload Agreement popup appears requiring user consent. Key terms include:

No media containing minors or individuals without consent
No violent / explicit themes
You must hold rights to all uploaded content
Violations may lead to account suspension without refund

5. Orientation Settings (Portrait / Landscape)

Users can toggle Portrait / Landscape modes under the “Orientation” menu — handy for generating vertical SNS clips or horizontal videos for YouTube and blogs.

6. Concurrent Generations Remain Limited to 3

The simultaneous generation limit remains three videos at a time. Attempting a fourth triggers the alert: “You can only generate 3 videos at a time.”

7. Availability: Invitation System Continues / Android App Not Yet Released

Android App: The help page explicitly states “Sora is not available on Android.” Meanwhile, OpenAI’s official Sora page shows a Google Play pre-registration link.
