Sora2, OpenAI’s AI video tool, has been drawing attention. After the web and iOS releases, many Android users are asking “When can we use it?” and “How do we get an invite code?”.
Meanwhile, several apps calling themselves “Sora2” have appeared on Google Play. Many of these are not official. This article summarizes the situation and safety tips as of Oct 5, 2025.
[Heads-up] “Sora2” apps on Google Play are not official (plus the invite-code reality)

Why these look like copycat apps
- The developer name is “Boolmaca” etc. — not OpenAI.
- Descriptions sound plausible but actually refer to generic “image” or “audio” effects. (Being “video” doesn’t make it real.)
- Screenshots look like fancy editors, but the UI/features don’t match Sora’s real interface.
※ The app shown here is unrelated to Sora2. The official developer name would say “OpenAI”.
The “I can’t get an invite code” problem
Social posts on X (Twitter) say “I can’t get an invite code.” In reality, invite codes are being distributed to some users, but availability is limited and not everyone receives one immediately.
Common ways people try to get codes (and risks)
Here are typical approaches users try — none are guaranteed:
- Refreshing X for new posts and copy-pasting a code fast
Extremely competitive; even if you grab one it’s often already used. Pure speed and luck. - Getting a code via DM
Higher chance than public posts, but DMs with strangers are risky (scams/phishing). Never share personal info. - Wait for wider access / Android release
The safest option: be patient for official expansions rather than chasing codes from unknown sources.
Official status (as of Oct 5, 2025)
- Web: available via sora.com
- iOS: available on the App Store (official OpenAI app)
- Android: not officially released yet
Summary: How to use Sora2 safely
- “Sora2” apps on Google Play are likely unofficial copycats.
- As of today, you can use Sora2 on the web and iOS.
- Invite codes exist but are limited; avoid risky DMs or unknown sites.
If you want the real Sora experience, use the official OpenAI channels (web/iOS). Until the Android app is officially announced, be careful with look-alike apps and “code giveaways.”
